How did it start?
Jo Bedu started over a cup of coffee by Tamer AlMasri and Michael Makdah with the mission of promoting Arab pop culture using art, humor, silliness, creativity, and style. The decision was made to broadcast these messages on t-shirts designed by Arabs. Jo Bedu then made its first appearance at JARA on June 28th 2007.
Why did you choose the name jo Bedu?
Jo Bedu started in Jordan with aspirations for a global reach, however we still wanted to pay tribute to where we started, hence ‘Jo’. ‘Bedu’ comes from our admiration and respect for the Bedouin heritage and wisdom, which is deeply ingrained in Jo Bedu’s business style.
